BERNINA Sewing Center, located in Matawan, NJ, is an authorized BERNINA dealer, offering a full line of sewing machines and sergers. Because we deal exclusively with BERNINA products, you can be confident that our friendly, knowledgeable staff will give you the highest level of brand sales, service and support available. In addition to BERNINA machines, we also carry a variety of sewing notions, pre-cuts, embroidery supplies and software to meet your creative needs. Whether you’re a professional seamstress, embroidery enthusiast, or beginning quilter, we have the products, service and education to suit your sewing style and skill set.

Some changes coming.

The store will reopen 10AM Tuesday May 28.

BERNINA University is coming early this year.
The store will close at 1:30 on Saturday June 8.
Thanks to Linda and Sunny the store will be open
10AM - 5PM Monday June 10 - Friday June 14.
(No late hours on Thursday June 13).
The store will be closed June 15, 2019,
opening again Monday June 17 at 10AM.

The Service Department will be closed the whole week

Beginning June 17 we will tentatively accept other brand
machines into the service queue. We will monitor the situation
and throttle models other than BERNINA, bernette, or EverSewn,
as needed to keep the machines from filling the class room.

Effective July 1 the price of a standard Clean, Oil and Adjust
for Sewing Machines, Sergers, Overlockers, Cover-stitch machines will
will be increased to $100. Testing Embroidery modules with its
sewing machine will add $15. 

Childrens Sewing Classes

Children 8-12 will learn basic sewing skills and create projects that will be cherished for years to come.

Keeping Lois' spirit alive

Founder, Friend and Mentor, Loys Reitz passed away
September 29, 2017. Our hearts and prayers go out to
Loys' brother, her children and their families.
Her spirit lives on in all the people she touched,
and in how we run the BERNINA Sewing Center.

Teen & Adult Sewing Classes

Held on Mondays at 3:30.

Students choose their own projects and sew everything from shorts to prom dresses.
It's almost like BERNINA Center's very own "Project Runway".
Many students are possibly headed toward careers in the fashion industry.
